Summer of 2016 has certainly been a memorable one for me, all thanks to two fab ladies. Let me start at the beginning. A year ago, almost to the day, I met lovely Abi at a wedding workshop (hosted by the awesome Ed Peers – my photography hero). It was such a fun day and very inspirational to be surrounded by likeminded people, it certainly fuelled my passion for wedding photography. The day ended and we all went our separate ways.
Fast-forward to April this year when I received an exciting message from Abi offering me an incredible opportunity to put into practice what I’d learned. She and her equally lovely sister Steph, aka Photography by Adelphos, asked me to work with them this summer and here we are with only one wedding left to go before the end of what has been a truly brilliant experience. It has opened my eyes to how wonderful being a wedding photographer is, the lovely welcoming people I have met, the challenges along the way – namely the British weather (hey, we love it really – what else would we talk about?) which have helped me grow and learn and love this job even more. My 10 years in Midwifery has prepared me well for the long hours, very little rest and living for the moment that wedding photographers thrive on.
I must say a huge public thank you to the dynamic sister duo that have taught me so much, and welcomed me with open arms. I have treasured every moment and certainly hope that we will get to work together in the future.
I go into 2017 with heaps more knowledge and enthusiasm, looking forward to the many exciting times that lay ahead...
